NAA 2013 LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM:
“MAKING A BIG BANG! TAPPING INTO THE POWER OF ENGAGEMENT”
September 19-20th, 2013
Optional evening meet & greet Wednesday the 18th
NAA Tailgate/Northwestern Football game Saturday the 21st
We’ve all experienced it at some point in our lives as club leaders, reunion chairs, and community volunteers: that magical moment when people do more than just sign up, or show up…they stand up, raise their hands and their voices, roll up their sleeves, and get to work. They get ENGAGED in the work, and in the fun.
Well, get ready, because that’s what you’re about to experience at the 2013 Leadership Symposium: interactive breakout sessions where ideas are flying, and the audience members are talking just as much as the panelists (and a few Breakout Sessions where we have no panelists at all! Just facilitators to help the attendees brainstorm problems and opportunities that are most important to their clubs.)
The Symposium's Opening session will include the Student Co-Chairs of Northwestern Dance Marathon. It’s a great example of the Ultimate in Engagement: producing a live multi-media event, organizing thousands of students to raise over a million dollars, and then giving that money away. The engagement-building concepts and tools of Dance Marathon (and even the event itself) offer a wealth of learning and opportunities to build larger, dynamic levels of community involvement at the club level.
Our Centerpiece Keynote will be Kellogg Professor (and former Baxter Labs Chairman and CEO) Harry Kraemer (KSM79 and NU Trustee), who will talk about the Power of Values-Based Leadership, and how doing the right thing can deliver outstanding and lasting results.
We’ll have six breakout session topics to choose between, as well as three sessions to help you learn more about the Our Northwestern online platform and how you will be able to use it for ALL of your communication needs.
