Sunil Chopra is the IBM Distinguished Professor of Operations Management. He was also Interim Dean of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University from 2009-2010. From 2006 – 2009, he served as Senior Associate Dean: Curriculum and Teaching. He became a faculty member of the school in 1989. Previously he was an Assistant Professor at the Stern School of Business Administration at New York University. He has a PhD in Operations Research from SUNY Stony Brook.


Professor Chopra’s research and teaching interests are in Operations Management, Logistics and Distribution Management, design of communication networks and design of distribution networks. He has co-authored the books Managing Business Process Flows and Supply Chain Management: Strategy, Planning, and Operation. Both books are published by Prentice Hall and are used at several of the top business schools to teach Operations Management and Supply Chain Management respectively. The Supply Chain Management book was awarded the best book of the year for 2002 by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). Professor Chopra has won several teaching awards at Kellogg.


He has been Departmental Editor for the journals Management Science and an Associate Editor for the Decision Sciences Journal, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Operations Research. His recent research has focused on risk management in supply chains. He has also studied distribution systems in a variety of companies trying to identify market, manufacturing, and product characteristics that drive the structure of a supply chain.

He has consulted for a variety of firms including Boise Cascade Office Products, GE Capital, W.W. Grainger, Motorola, Intel, and Sara Lee.


Curtis M. Smith '04 is a graduate of Kellogg's Executive MBA program and one of Kellogg's many industry leaders in the world of beer, wine, spirits and beverage marketing, sales and distribution. Curtis currently serves as the General Manager for Constellation Brands’ Beer Division in the Western & Central United States where the leading imported brands that his teams have championed over the years include Corona Extra, Corona Light, Negra Modelo, Pacifico, Victoria and Modelo Especial.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Purdue University and began his sales and marketing career at Coors Brewing Company in 1991 during the introduction of Coors Light draft. After graduating from Purdue he began his career with Barton Beers, Ltd. and later, Crown Imports LLC, heading marketing, strategic growth, pricing, channel management, brand portfolios and national sales management and National Account responsibilities in a 15 state territory. Curtis is fluent in Spanish and lives in Winnetka with his wife, Sonja, and their young family. He is a solid business driver whose entrepreneurial instincts and strategic vision have carried him through his various sales leadership roles at Constellation Brands over his 24 year career.

Roisin Hennerty is President of Ornua Foods North & Latin America, overseeing a portfolio of brands – both imported and domestic. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of premium dairy products and owns the internationally renowned Kerrygold brand.  As a leading international food company Ornua has a global footprint that extends to over 90 countries worldwide, with annualized sales of over €2 billion. 

Having originally joined Ornua Cooperative in Dublin, Ireland, Hennerty later moved to the US and was responsible for the strategic marketing and launch of Kerrygold Butter & Dubliner Cheese in the USA.  As then VP of Marketing, she led the brand from market entry, to its position today as the #3 Butter brand in the US and the #2 Cheddar brand.

With extensive experience in International Trade, she has facilitated & leads the US business on all matters relating to WTO, strategic quota risk management and the introduction of protocols in relation to Food Safety & Bioterrorism regulations. 

Hennerty represents Ornua Group on the Board of the American Butter Institute, and served as a Director on the Board of The Cheese Importers Association of America, from 1999-2009, serving for eight years on the Executive Committee. She also sits on the board of the Chicago Chapter of Les Dames Escoffier International and is active in a variety of trade and food associations, including the International Association of Culinary Professionals & Les Guilde Des Fromagers. 

A native of Ireland, Hennerty earned her primary degree at University College Dublin, holds a Masters in International Trade from the Dublin Institute of Technology, and is a graduate of the Executive Scholars program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.



Barry Greenhouse is the Vice President of Network Strategy, Transportation & AGI Supply Chair at W.W. Grainger. He leads the Network Strategy and Transportation group based out of the United States as well as the Acklands-Grainger Supply Chain in Canada.

Barry joined Grainger in 2004 as an Operations Manager at the Los Angeles DC. In 2005, he relocated to the Northeast to lead the New Jersey DC, while also providing leadership on storage strategy to accommodate Product Line Expansion. In 2008, driven by the continued growth in the DC network, he transitioned to the role of Director, DC Space Management Systems and Processes, where he oversaw the expansion of the Greenville Distribution Center, as well as the construction of the San Francisco and Illinois (Minooka) Distribution Centers.

Prior to joining Grainger, Barry spent seven years in the distribution industry at McMaster-Carr and Webvan in operations, sales, marketing, and project management.  Barry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and an MBA, both from the University of California, Los Angeles.
